In my opinion, Anime is awesome!! you can explore new worlds and fantasies at the comfort of your own couch and computer. plus it helped me cope with things I've been suffering from as well.
I think otaku~ism (if that's even a word) is really contagious!!
once you start watching anime, you encourage others to watch it, then they become otakus as well and so on and so on. my friend got me addicted to anime 3 years ago (b4 that I only watched anime like once {1-3 episodes/day} or twice...
