Summary:
-I am disappointed that the Gay Marriage thread was closed
-people made a lot of unnecessary posts leading to its being closed
-after seeing so many unnecessary posts I decided to write a bit about what posts are and are not necessary:
-posts should hold new ideas, and clarify old ones
-when suggesting a point, reasoning is helpful
-when defending a point, reasoning is key
-stay on topic (most things are on topic enough)
