we have two things: my birthday, which i am not looking forward to, and back to school, which i am looking forward to. seems the older i get, the more a birthday reflects on my life, and the decisions i've made. i keep hoping some of the ones i've chosen poorly on won't come back to bite me in the ass, but that's not the case.

as for school, god how i hate the long vacations. if i'm not busy i go crazy (reckoner, if you read this i don't wanna hear anything about the whole deadly...

well, with a week and a half left, it's back to the grind, and i'm actually looking forward to it. i hate long vacations, because there's the temptation to spend money, and it's the one time of year where my pay goes down. recovery sucks because i have to wait til october to get another full paycheck. and of course, everything has to be paid at the same time which drains me pretty bad.

but it'll be good to be back in school, seeing all my students at all my schools, and seeing how...

so, last night i was scrolling through facebook when i notice a friend of mine had changed her relationship status, and low and behold, she's now engaged. i couldn't be happier for her. took long enough. her and her fiance have been together for nearly 7 years. should've tied the know long ago. but it got me thinking, and a little depressed, because here i am, i'll be 47 next month (yes, a shocker to all who read, i know), and i've never been married (yet another shocker).

i guess...

tell you what, it is hard to get back to normal after traveling 7000 miles. the jet lag is bad, the sleeping is difficult, but it's worth it, i think. and after taking care of a few things, i feel like i'm back where i belong. the hard part was leaving. i love my family, but with no jobs really available back there, this is the best thing for me. and i know my family is proud of me. just wish i could share this experience with them. oh well. time will handle that, and all i can do is wait, while...

whew, am i glad to be back home. 2 weeks in florida is like being in hell: it's hot and horrible. but i enjoyed being with my family. i really missed seeing them, especially my brother. he's my best friend and i miss being around him. now, if i can just get him married off, my job will be done. and the only anime i had time to see were old episodes of bleach, playing on cartoon network, so i'll be glad to get caught up.

i think now i can go back to my life, and try to get things going...
