I hate to be going to other people for my own work, but I'm having a hard time deciding how I want the drums to carry the groove in this riff I'm working on. It's weird because I have this idea about how I want it to drive the beat, but I can't get it to work right.

I think part of the issue comes from having phrased it double-time at a slower tempo rather than stretching it over double the measures at a faster tempo. I don't want it quite half-time, either... I need a weird mix......

Unless nobody has ever heard that song California Dreaming by the Mamas and the Papas, in which case the next season race was Catalunya and I can't be bothered to be a part of the real world right now.

This was only a 50% race, though. I love the track, but the tyre wear is incredible and it's difficult to take care of your tyres for the almost two hours that the race would have been.

So, this weekend, I've been watching the practice and qualifying for the German GP (race is tomorrow), and indulging and two of my favorite fantasies.

I'm imagining I'm a Formula 1 driver who also happens to have incredible luck meeting the perfect woman.

Of course I'm talking about F1 2011 and Ran Miyoshi from My Girlfriend is the President, which arrived Thursday and which I haven't put down since.
