When I was younger, Reborn was one of my favorite anime, and when I reached he ending I continued on by reading the manga and kept going till it ended earlier this year... if you think the time skip was bad, then you definitely didn't read the "curse of the rainbow" arc.
It was one of those "it could have had a great ending if they stopped just before this arc" situations

I heard it's getting a "second" season since the manga is ending.

I started reading the manga around 2011...
since then I've heard countless rumors that turned out false, and that was before the series ended. Its safe to assume that rumor is also false

I REALLY didn't like the way the series ended, -__-
