The manga is exceptional, the anime is faithful to the source but the recent adaptations have only covered the early parts. From part 3 onwards the series pretty much goes through a metamorphosis that only the readers have witnessed.

There are OVA's of part 3 but they aren't on AU and they have skipped some parts of the manga.
