One of the main reasons I had started watching it was curiosity abut her its popularity came from, I quickly realised it was the way they released the episode in the first place that was the main factor.....
then got into it and continued watching

True, I got turned off on Episode 0 ( The Adventures of Mikuru )
I got over it, now I just love how they executed the show, though... kinda wish it was more of a "mindfuck"



Clannad didn't make me cry, but.. well, only because.. nevermind.
It's sad, really hits you in the heart, really funny too, the way the switch from Comedy to Drama is phenomenal

When you think about it, its execution could even be considered genius. Makes me wonder why they didn't do it for season 2, which did considerably worse. :\

Did Clannad pull the switch off as well as Angel Beats did?

They couldn't pull more psychological off because the show is mostly a "straight man and idiot" routine, which is hard to fit psychology into.
Haruhi's character is fun :D..... but you clearly "enjoy" Haruhi much more then most ;)
