I don't understand schools at all. If you're given a test, you don't need to know anything to answer it, no matter what it's on... Like, really... It's like people need to be told things to know them... Ever heard of thinking about the world? Attending college lectures is probably like torture. Low-level math is a good example: when you're going into Calculus, people are still screwing up on order of operations... and the lecture consists of tips like "REMEMBER THAT X IS WHAT IT SEEMS LIKE, AND Y IS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU'D THINK IT BE" and in terms of equations and graphs, etc... people just keep being told random conclusions over and over, when middle school level algebra is enough to clearly see all those different meanings both in terms of graphs and equations.. and especially their correlation, since graphs and equations are basically the same effing thing. Like... I don't even... uuugh... And don't even get me started on Geometry/trigonometry/etc. If people find that stuff new to them, I hope they've never seen a circle/triangle/etc before in their life... That's not even thinking about the world. If you see a circle, it's obvious that its circumference would be equal to its diameter times pi, except for the terminology we use for it. And it would be obvious how to estimate pi to indefinite approximations, which, if you're intelligent, could actually be done mentally. But I'll give some leeway here and just say you could often just use the simple physical methods. My only pet peeve is being around other people in real life. .-. Anyway, back to food and rest. I need some more blood in my body... |
