Good morning.

As for my NEET situation, I'm still 17. I skipped high school and am going off and on to government-sponsored college courses at a (an absurdly subpar) local community college. (have been for at least ~2.5 years)
I live with a very emotionally distant step family, in the living room closet space. I help around the house and such and am amiable, but largely keep to myself most of the time. They let me use the car(s), and actually buy me groceries out of their own pocket sometimes. Thanks so much! <3<3<3<3<3<3<3
For now, I don't do much of anything except advance physically and mentally at a dramatically slower rate than I should... I'm an independent person who really shouldn't be living with their parents and my life is in a strange state of limbo for now. My step family is... well, rather blue collar, as they themselves managed to say after comparing me to a godlike alien presence in a high fantasy novel, so due to such basic communication barriers I'm mostly just acting like a puppet for now. But... well, I'm an extremely unique person. I'll just say that regular society norms in general don't apply to me... at all.

It's compulsory here too. But that doesn't mean certain people don't end up escaping normal application of the education system, and go straight to university in their early teens, or what have you...

If you read it all, I'm not sure how you misinterpreted "skipped high school." It never even occurred to me to make exceptions for the rare stereotypical usage of teens not going, or whatever--I certainly have no reason to be familiar with this concept, so I dunno--by "skipping high school" I mean, just... skipping high school.
Finish middle school: oh hey you instantly graduated high school too, let's go to college instead. I'm not sure how to make it any clearer.
