The Last: Naruto the Movie

With the current happenings in the anime, I guess the movie plot makes some sense.
The poster looks really nice. Though, it spoils the upcoming events in the anime so much xD
I wonder if they'll make a special episode for this movie, like they did with Road to Ninja.

They were going tie in the ending of the manga with this so this is more or less a canon sequel to the series.

I'm not surprised they aren't going to kill Sasuke off in the manga. It's disappointing but not a surprise.

To be far, unless I am wrong, it has never been stated for sure that the movie is indeed the cannon ending to the manga. That is just what people are assuming based on the title and the fact that it is set a number of years after the series. It could very well be an alternate reality kind of thing like the Road to Ninja movie (that Kishimoto also wrote and yet is not cannon).

u may be right especially since its been confirmed that after the end of the naruto manga a bunch of movies would be coming out might be like a alternate ending type deal with every movie being a alternate to please everyone or they may all be just continuing the series until naruto becomes hokage to satisfy people either way gotta be dissapointed the author definitely gave up on the series long ago with all the plot holes the last arc has

Yeah but the thing is... The road to ninja is set in a parallel world.

It could be canon or non-canon. He worked on road to ninja because he didn't want it to be to non canon so in a sense he did a good job fitting it in as a stand alone story that could be regarded as both depending how you see it.

The same applies with The Last it is canon or non conon depending how fan boy/girl you are about the series.

I personally regard it as a canon end... I mean the guy spent a decade on the manga, no point in doing a manga short sequel and get hate letters from fans, why not work on a film if that is what the anime film company wants? In the end if he left it to them it going be another non canon work, why not make it as canon as possible?
