I don't like ecchi and gore anime either, except HOTD but i watched it because of story and not ecchi stuff though most probably won't believe me that. I don't mind romance anime but I just felt Clannad not really my type of anime after i watched first 5 episodes. I'm not Clannad hater nor I would bash it, I just didn't like it and that is all.

I like to watch gore sometimes when I am really in a mood for it, but that's rare.
I don't like ecchi at all, it ruins the whole anime for me :P

I watched like only two ecchi anime: HOTD and DearS. DearS was really strange with that slave thing but later i realized most ecchi anime are about that stuff so decided not to watch anymore of that. If I remember correctly DearS had nice op and ed song though lol

im not big into gore myself. love ecchi though: nice scenery ;)
now i wont watch something if it's ridiculously ecchi and not a very good story line lol

I would probably liked it better without ecchi, since ecchi parts are the only thing I disliked about it :P

Not sure if anime called "This Ugly Yet Beautiful World" counts as ecchi, I liked romance story in that one...
