Your thoughts on fillers?

I'm wondering what everyone's opinion on fillers is? I know that when your watching a series and they pop up everyone complains and complains, but would you rather the series not air for a while and then release the content that your waiting for? For me personally I sometimes feel like the filler's are their to show you things that you need to know about in the up coming battles or adventures.

So my basic question is: Fillers or Short periods without episodes for your series(to replace the time when you would have fillers)?

Personally I hate them. Well the odd one or two on occasion is okay but they have to be good ones. But a lot of the mainstream animes like Bleach for example even have filler arcs of all things. OMG I just can't take those at all.

Well as long as its not long, and it is an exciting filler..
like that 75episode Naruto filler, god i wanna kill the producer with a papercut..
that shit made me to stop watching naruto for like 5 months!!

The main reason why I held off on watching Bleach and Naruto: FILLERS.
I was waiting for them to be over so that I can just skip all of them.
It's ok if they add 1, 2 or even 3 eps of fillers. But having over 20 eps of fillers is doing too much imo..

Naruto has outdone itself. There's already too much fillers and flashbacks in the series and now it's filler and flashback TOGETHER for 4 weeks???!! Plus they just had a filler arc not so long ago! There should be a limit...

i dont watch alot of animes larg enough to have fillers i love the fillers in fairy tail but i just sgtarted bleach so i dont know about their fillers otherwise most of the anime i watch is 12 episode ones

I personally don't mind fillers if they are used as a separate story arc. The times that I hate them is when the current arc is not finished and they throw in the fillers. Bleach has great fillers but are placed in such a bad way that it disrupts the flow of the series. I gave up on Naruto so long ago because of the fillers. Just bad placement.

If you put 30 episodes of naruto next to each other, there would be a 90% chance of hitting a filler if you threw a stone at them.
