In the beginning few episodes, why did Echizen lose? I don't understand. Even if the opponents in the training camp are strong high schoolers. Echizen won the US Open and beat Lleyton Hewitt in the finals.

Do you mean because he did'nt compete? He was disqualified because he ditched the competition with all the other's to see who was going to leave. (Also you may want to put a SPOILER alert on your thread name, for ppl who haven't watched it)

No I mean why did he lose to the Tokugawa guy. He's already strong enough to win the US Open so why does he lose to him? If he really is stronger than Echizen why isnt he already a pro? I mean I understand that they need to keep it challenging and stuff, but still its kind of a huge extreme

Spoiler Alert I finished watching all the episodes so far. It's really good, but still I dont understand. Tezuka went on to pros, but why not Echizen if hes already been in and won the US Open. Is there any answers from the manga on that? I dont read it so I dont know
