How do you choose a new series to watch?

1) I read the summary of the anime. if passed, proceed to next step.
2) look at the genre. if passed, proceed to next step.
3) Watch the 1st episode of the anime to judge the graphics and whether the anime caught my attention. if passed proceed to next step.
4) If the 1st episode have a good climax and starting, I will continue watching the episodes. if passed, proceed to next step.
5) If the story line keep me interested, I will keep watching it, or else, I will just give up literally half way. :P

But seriously, I usually just look at the genre of the series. If I like it, then read the summary. If I like it, then I say:

And proceed to watch...

I usually just rummage through the archive of a certain genre i feel like watching, and then read the synopsis. If it sounds good i'll watch a few episodes and see if i like it. If i like it, i'll watch it ^^

And sometimes i just look at recomendation threads :p

I have 2 resources that I utilize before I watch a series:

1) Google.
2) Asking people for recommendations.

I'd read synopsis first or check the genre.I'd basically watch anything >.>.
But I'll most likely ask people for recommendation.

I sometimes ask for recommendations, but then I realised Anime Planet has a recommendation section you can look at if you go to that anime's page.
