Umm, no. They're not skipping a lot compared to the original anime. I watched the original, and they're... well, skipping a lot and adding a little too much. :\ Imo, at least.

what is the point of adding in fillers like this to a recap? they've got plenty of seasons of material prepared. With that I'd say they've probably lost most of the fans of the old series.
