This reminds me of my nightmare when i was a kid, about an RPG sucking players in the computer then everyone had to fight to the death to survive in real life, its a last man standing game O.o coincidence huh?

Wow. I can't believe I haven't watched this yet. Just finished with the first episode, and, I have to say, I was totally blown away. The light novel was pretty cool, and when I finished that I checked out the manga, which I thought was pretty damn awesome, and now I see this and...wow. The rest can't really compare. Its so amazing to see a world full of characters you know and love, come to life in every sense of the word. Really nice. Yay!!! Now, I'm gonna go and watch the rest... °>_

The Nerve Gear sounds amazing! Too bad a psycopath is using it to watch kids die. Like some girl in that game looks like she is only 12. It's like an online hunger games.

This and Accel World are done by the same writer. I found this out because in the most recent episode of Accel World (22) Haru finds a search result on the Nerve Gear as a predecessor of the VR device Neuro Linker in Accel World. Great concept.

I noticed something while rewatching this episode...When Kirito says that the NerveGear has an internal battery, Klein acts super shocked. But can't the internal battery run out of power? I mean, like a laptop. It has an internal battery but you still need to charge it. o-o or am i totally off the mark here?

just in case someone didnt get the part after kayaba disappeared and he was bleeding out of his thumb, its from that paper cut he got in the begining of the ep when he was still in the real world, simbolizing that you could now feel pain in the virtual world like in the real world

Looks interesting...not much of a excciting crop to choose from this summer...for me,at least i can enjoy my summer outdoors,and not have my face glued to a computer,lol. They'll probably make up for it in the fall though.

Ok, apparently some people didnt read the subtitles fully. For those who dont know how they're body is gonna survive, despite being stuck in the game, they're still gonna get nutrition. How? Hospitals will be feeding nutrition through an IV drip. So they're gonna be fine despite being stuck in the game until someone clears it.

Anyways damn this anime looks interesting, you can even feel the epicness of being in a whole new world! I simply can't wait for the next episode :D Oh and I just don't how their body will survive in the real world?, I mean he said he was hungry and food only made you full in your and not your real body, so how are their body going to survive without food, water and sex? XD

Hey anyone, I've noticed a really big plot hole in this anime and would like some kind of explanation. If they're stuck in this virtual reality without any control of their physical bodies, how do they survive? I mean they can eat and drink in the game but it only gives them the feeling of satisfaction. Their bodies aren't actually getting any real food or water which means that have POSSIBLY a week to beat the game?

I was just hoping for a cool Videogame type anime since I was remembering how much I like Tower of Druaga. And this looks awesome. Not sure about no magic but the abilities seem pretty magical so I'm sure it will be fine.

New RPG anime, sweet. This can potentially be great, but with the pathway it's taking, it won't be.
Some possible endgame (100 Floor boss) scenarios:
100th Floor boss is a servant of GM, hard to beat, afterward GM appears, requires everyone's strength (Like transferring strength to a character or teamwork) to kill
100th Floor boss is the GM, nearly impossible to kill

well, im an mmorpg gamer and otaku
and from playing games from diff. companies, the chances of a company going to start a VR wolrd game connected to the brain is slim :/ reasons, no mmorpg company has even the high tech. computers and high enough funds to make all this stuff happen, so right now, we are safe(means im not sure if its possible in the future)
2nd of all, as IF a country official would actually agree to launch a game thats maybe..idk the costs, would go sky high, enough to buy half of earth maybe? also even if the government tries to develope such feats, the media would be interested in it, and so would other companies, and other countries
anyways this seriese has two values to teach, 1, its to teach the companies about developing a VR brain connected system, and 2, its to teach people the dangers of it, its actually somewhat true that GM's(Game Master's0 have almost full controll over the game, since GM's developed it in the firstplace, thier the staff obviousely
and lastly...well...thats all for now...enough say
anyways, this is a seriese that will tleast try to teach companies some warning of the costs, and the issues of developing VR mmorpg's
anyways, its an anime guys, just watch and read it for ur entertainment, and learn something from it if u can

Accel World and Sword Art Online, both written by Reki Kawahara.. I like virtual reality game-based stuff... I think I prefer this over Accel World, though, I'm not into those fighting games.
Though I'm sad there's no magic. It's just sad... & messed up.
Can't tell if mature-Kirito or young/cute-Kirito looks better.

@Neonzel oyeah thats the one, sorry i got the name, wrong because in the wallpaper i didnt notice the "R" was connected to "EAL" and because the three letter's that are capitalize are RPG so i taught it was RPG real lol, yeah its "Real pg" and its a great manga still waiting for the next chapter

Kirito looked so badass at the start in reality [cause his eyes weren't seen] and his 1st customized avatar, but in reality he's cute which is the opposite XDD LOL why did their avatars have to change into their forms in reality now all those guys playing as girls are screwed XDD, the GM's insane O.o, awesome and epic as expected ^^ let's see if this could beat Ragnarok O_O

This anime sure looks promising. I think it's a much darker version of .//Hack in some ways and yet unique in its own ways. Can't wait for more! Yay! Summer's gonna be awesome again!

I would assume that the gamers would be treated as if they were in a coma. The creator of the game seemed prepared for the media to keep the player's family and friends from removing the gear, so I would also believe that he knew they would be able to live while their needs were taken care of outside of the game.

While this is a cool concept and a cool anime, in real life there would be serveral issues with the device used to this type of VR game.
As you see in this anime the players are completely unable to escape and isolated from the real world due to a simple tweak in the system...Removing the log out function.
Ofc this would be very cool for those with suicide thoughts that are miserable in real life and therefore choose to be a hardcore gamer. But others that value their life, would obviously not like it.
Games are meant to be fun and relaxing. The game in this anime puts your life at stake.
I hope those who intend to create VR games in the future do it right and safe.

Wow, Really loving this anime already.
This had went beyond my expectation.
Although, I did not expect there to be male humans pretending to be female characters in the game.
Because even though I've enjoy watching the hilarious outcome when the other players realise that fact, it should not have been allowed; as the game allow one to feel the surrounding of environment by their five senses, so a male player in a female body can only be trouble.

Pretty sweet, but what happens to the players bodies in real life while they play this game for weeks on end? They would have to be given feeding tubes and constantly taken care of by people from the outside. And if you don't have anyone to depend on, your as good as dead.
That last bit about Klein's sexuality was a bit unexpected =P He was interested in the main characters sister so I guess he goes both ways.

Oh men rpg anime genre are starting to make their move, first accelworld now this >.< and let me tell you, there are more manga's like this that havent been made into an anime, and to tell you the truth this kind of genre of rpg base anime is one or maybe the best to read in manga today >.< all gamer's who fantasize about, guilds,items,farming,equipment,leveling up anime series here is one of the best, and wait until you see rpg real. that would surely kick some *SS, my fav manga to read is this and rpg real and other rpg manga base story!!!!!
